For those looking to soak up the hip, laid-back vibes of Hannam-dong over a world-class cup of coffee, mtl Hannam is an absolute must-visit!

Mtl seeks diversity, community and sustainability.

It’s not just a place where coffee is sold
through a new experience
I think it’s a place to enjoy.

The interior avoids unnecessary clutter. It features high ceilings, industrial concrete textures, and long communal wooden tables that encourage a sense of shared creativity.
Half of the space is dedicated to a curated selection of lifestyle goods. From independent magazines and art books to eco-friendly home goods and fashion accessories, there is always something beautiful to look at while you wait for your coffee.
It feels intellectual yet relaxed. The large floor-to-ceiling windows connect the interior with the trendy Hannam streets, making it a prime spot for people-watching and soaking in the local creative energy.

+ Experience Bonanza Coffee

Today, I ordered iced americano that Koreans love.

There are Koreans who enjoy “Uljukah(얼죽아)” (meaning that they drink iced coffee even if they freeze to death)

Mtl is a Berlin coffee,
Using Bonanza’s coffee beans.

Their Bonanza Latte is a crowd favorite—incredibly creamy and smooth, allowing the high-quality espresso to shine through without being overpowered by milk.

There is a place where fashion and caffeine meet

and there is an editing shop, so you can see a variety of products. There is a lot of space, so you can enjoy coffee and chat comfortably.

My personal feelings & Recommendations

If you want to feel Hannam-dong’s creative, unhurried energy in a single cup of coffee, mtl is the place to start. It’s not just a coffee stop — between the lifestyle goods, the Bonanza beans, and the long communal tables, it’s easy to lose an hour here without noticing.

The only downside is that it can get crowded on weekends, especially around lunch. Weekday mornings are the better bet if you want a quiet moment at the window.
