Today I finally visited Vision Stroll’s Yeonhui branch — a place I’d been meaning to check out for a while.

They had good-looking desserts on display. Drip bags run 2,000 KRW, and they also sell beans — ranging from about 15,000 to 30,000 KRW per 200g. The packaging has a distinctive look, with a slightly muted color palette that gives it a moody, considered feel.

When you order, they give you a number to place on your table, and bring the coffee out to you.

I ordered a latte, and it was genuinely rich and nutty — almost closer to a flat white in how strongly the coffee itself came through. Their beans are medium roast, apparently, which probably explains why the color in the cup already leaned brown rather than the usual milky tone. Compared to lattes elsewhere, this one stood out for being stronger, with the coffee’s character coming through clearly even with milk added.

Vision Stroll grabs your attention from the outside. A distinctively designed bench with triangular legs plays up the natural texture of the wood, and combined with the grasses and terrace awning outside, the outdoor space adds a lot to the café’s overall character. The mix of ochre and black tones feels sophisticated, and the dried grass swaying gently — almost like silver grass (eodae) — draws the eye.

Inside, mismatched antique chairs pair with tables that keep their natural wood texture, and the walls are decorated with beautifully lined antique craft pieces. The floor is finished in a natural wood material, tying the whole space together. Behind a partition wall, there are small tables for two or three, good for a quiet conversation. Every chair here looks distinctive and fun, and the line-focused lighting pairs well with the rough wall finish.

They sell a range of goods too. There’s a playfully designed poster on the restroom door that adds a bit of exotic charm to the space.

The kitchen area looked spacious and clean, with cups and coffee tools neatly arranged. A corner has been turned into what almost looks like a one-person bar counter, built just for brewing a single cup — there’s fun in noticing details like that throughout the space.

Through the glass, you can see a large roasting machine — clearly a space that takes its coffee seriously. Stylish posters are placed throughout, and a shelf holding pottery and beans has an unusual shape of its own. Every craft object here looks like it was sourced individually, and there isn’t a single corner of the café that feels like an afterthought.

My take: The coffee is excellent, and the space is full of interesting objects and furniture worth taking in — Vision Stroll is a genuinely great café. The only downside is that it can get crowded on weekends, to the point where seating might run out. Aside from that, it’s well worth the visit — if you’re in Yeonhui-dong, don’t skip it.
